His artist's life
- His fame

In 1908,  Félix Charpentier  was  entrusted  with  the  creation  of  a  monumental  fountain  called : the   "Human Spring" which was originally installed in the Luxemburg gardens in Paris.

The sculptor worked up to his death on this enormous marble monument of Carrara marble. His workshop, situated  on 17 Campagne-Première street in Paris was also his residence for several years. It turned out to be too small for marble blocks of such a large size.

He thus bought, around 1914, larger premises on 9 Ridder Street,  with three workshops which he fitted according to his taste.

Félix was 56 years old
He was then able to work with five or six practitioners who, by taking care of the rough-hewing of stone blocks, allowed him to gain  precious time. After the war, he received an impressive number of orders for war memorials.

At the same time, thanks to his talent and to his increasing fame, many private individuals asked him to create busts and medallions. Throughout his career, his qualities as a prodigious portraitist never failed him. One can admire a perfect mastery and an unequalled accuracy in resemblances and expressions in his work
