His artist's life - The periode of recognition

From 1893 on, State orders for public monuments came in quick succession. We can cite:
"Contemporary Art"  for the "Grand Palais" in Paris.
The decoration of the "Gare de Lyon" in Paris.
Monuments Madier de Montjau and Emile Jamais
"The Departure of Swallows"  for the city of Avignon etc....

Some beautiful marble statues like "The Illusion" or "The Falling star" obtained considerable success and were acquired for the national museums.

Félix was 42 years old

In 1899, Austria awarded Félix Charpentier the First Gold Medal in the International three-year Exhibition of Vienna for: "The Sleepy Globe" . Finally, the First Medal of Honour was attributed to him during the Paris World's Fair of 1900 where "The Falling star", "The Song" and "The Wrestlers" were on display. On this occasion, the President of the French Republic, Emile Loubet, awarded him the officer's rosette of the Legion of Honour.

In May 1901 a banquet, chaired by Paul Deschanel, then president of the Chamber of Representatives, was given in his honor. Approximately three hundred dinner guests gathered, including his friends Paul Doumer, Gaston Doumergue, Gaston Boissier, as well as numerous artists.

Afterward, his status as respected Master, by his peers, his critics and the public, allowed him to participate in different Juries and, notably, in those of the S.A.F. This brought him the possibility of orders from the State.
